Zoomcar: Markish Arun is VP of Engineering

With over 15 years of techno-functional experience, Markish will be at the helm of all engineering initiatives and team-building exercises at Zoomcar



Aiming to build robust top management, India’s leading self-drive mobility platform, Zoomcar, has now announced the appointment of Markish Arun as its Vice President (VP) of Engineering. In his new role, Markish will be responsible for all engineering initiatives and will also build respective teams with high levels of motivation and competency.



Zoomcar is eyeing at a deeper penetration in the Indian market and owing to superior technology, Zoomcar has democratised accessibility to cars. Zoomcar’s primary target is to have over 1,00,000 vehicles on road in 18-24 months and to continue to empower its customers with better mobility alternatives at scale. Zoomcar plans to deploy their investment into growth, technology & data science with a strong focus on enhancing an industry leading IoT layout in addition to its shared subscription service.

               

A veteran in the engineering segment with close to two decades of experience, Markish has been a techno-functional executive for over 15 years. His rich and dynamic profile indicates the value he brings to the table. He has previously worked with Goibibo and Makemytrip as the Senior Director of Engineering where he led the supply-side engineering and product initiatives. An entrepreneur himself, Markish co-founded Magicrooms.in, a real-time inventory distribution engine for hotels in India, which he sold to Yatra.com in 2011. He also co-founded Koruko.com in 2013, an IoT-based retail engagement platform, which was later pivoted as Trip38.com.



With a B.Tech in Information Technology from Anna University, Markish is extremely passionate about start-ups and technology and is always looking to solve real-life business problems at scale with the help of innovative technology. A fitness enthusiast, Markish enjoys swimming, playing basketball and video games in his leisure time.
