EV Motors, BSES Yamuna Power ink agreement to set up EV Charging Infrastructure in Delhi

With a view to establish and promote the e-mobility ecosystem in India, EV Motors India Pvt. Ltd. (EVM) today has announced the signing of an agreement with BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. Amazing! A Porsche as personal as your own fingerprint

Even nowadays, hardly any Porsche is the same as another. But from now on, the 911 can even be as unique as the papillary lines on a human fingertip. Using an innovative direct printing method developed by Porsche, graphic elements of the highest visual quality can now be printed onto the painted body parts of a vehicle. Initially, customers who purchase a new 911 can have the bonnet personalised with a design based on their own fingerprint. In the medium term, other customer-specific designs will become available. This service is available through the Porsche Centres, which establish contact with the customer consultants at the Exclusive Manufaktur in Zuffenhausen. These consultants discuss the entire process with the customer, from submission of the fingerprint to completion of the vehicle.



“Individuality is very important for Porsche customers. And no design can be more personal than your own fingerprint,” says Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualization and Classic. “Porsche is a pioneer in personalisation and has developed the direct printing method together with partners. We’re especially proud of having developed a completely new product offering based on new technologies. A key factor in this was the different disciplines working together in the project team.”

For the project, a so-called “technology cell” was set up in the paint shop of the Zuffenhausen training centre. It was here that the new software and hardware as well as the associated painting and manufacturing process were developed and tested. The decision to locate the technology cell in the training centre was intentional: among other things, it will also be used to introduce the trainees to pioneering technologies.

Direct printing makes it possible to produce designs that are not possible with conventional painting. In terms of look and feel, the new technology is clearly superior to film application. The operating principle is similar to that of an inkjet printer: using a print head, the paint is applied to three-dimensional components automatically and without overspray. “The ability to control the nozzles individually permits targeted application of every paint droplet,” explains Christian Will, Vice President Production Development at Porsche AG. “The complexity is due to the necessity of harmonising three technologies: robot technology (control, sensors, programming), application technology (print head, graphic handling) and paint technology (application process, paint).”

If a customer decides to enhance their 911 with the direct printing method, the specialists in the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur disassemble the bonnet following series production. The customer’s biometric data is processed to make sure it cannot be used for an unauthorised purpose. The entire process takes place in direct communication with the customer, who has a complete overview of how their personal data is used and is also integrated in the creation process of their print graphic. After the robot paints the unique design, a clear coat is applied and the bonnet is polished to a high-gloss finish, in order to meet the highest quality standards. Then the enhanced component is reinstalled. The service costs 7,500 euros (including VAT) in Germany and will be provided by the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur on request from March 2020.

Birla Carbon, one of the world’s largest carbon black producers will participate at the Tire Technology Expo 2020 and will unveil its ‘Birla Carbon App’ (mobile app) for its customers and partners.

Launched with an aim to provide a platform to aspiring music composers to promote original English music, NEXA Music today released its much awaited music video by maestro A.R. Rahman. Titled “You Got Me”, this music video is about celebration of music and new indigenous talent in English Music.



NEXA Music, Lab: ‘NEXA Music, Lab’ was instituted to provide an English music platform to aspiring musicians. Over 1000 entries were received across the country, of which the top 24 were shortlisted by the jury comprising of A.R. Rahman and Clinton Cerejo. These musicians were guided by the jury to reproduce their tracks under the mentorship of headline talent of renowned musicians. The 24 original English music compositions by the participants were released on NEXA Music’s YouTube Channel (link). These videos complemented the 4 exclusive NEXA Music videos composed and released by headline talent from NEXA Music.

Today’s announcement is also for 4 winners under ‘NEXA Music, Lab’. These winners feature in the music video, ‘You Got Me’ along with A.R. Rahman. Further, they will go on to compose 4 original exclusive songs and feature in their respective music videos.

NEXA Music, Live Gigs is NEXA’s endeavor to provide exclusive experience to its customers and the audience at large. Kia Sorento: New platform and powertrain details for next-generation car

-      New platform enhances space, comfort and driving character
-     Accommodates potent new ‘Smartstream’ turbo electrified powertrains
-     Launch line-up includes new 1.6-liter T-GDi hybrid powertrain, as well as 2.5-liter T-GDi and 2.2-liter diesel
-     Public debut for new Sorento at 2020 Geneva International Motor Show


  Kia Motors Corporation has revealed details of the next-generation Sorento’s new platform and powertrains today.



The latest Sorento will be the first SUV to be based on Kia’s new platform when production commences later this year. With a compact engine bay structure, shorter overhangs and a longer wheelbase, the platform enables the car’s stylish new design and on-road posture, as well as its comfortable ride and satisfying handling traits.

The overall length of new Sorento has been extended by 10 mm than its predecessor, while the wheelbase is up 35 mm to 2,815 mm. The cabin now provides more room than in many other midsize SUVs, while intelligent packaging means the new Sorento will also offer class-leading cargo space.



When the first-generation Sorento was launched in 2002, it was underpinned by a robust body-on-frame chassis, maximizing space and all-road ability. The shift to a monocoque structure for the second-generation Sorento in 2009 marked a step change in the car’s on-road character and behavior. Kia’s new midsize SUV platform represents a similarly important leap forward for the next-generation Sorento, allowing the car to set new standards in its segment for space, practicality, efficiency and quality.



For Korea, Europe and North America, the structure and layout of the platform accommodates the Sorento’s potent new ‘Smartstream’ turbo hybrid powertrain. Representing the first application of electrified power in the Sorento line-up, the new powertrain comprises a 1.6-liter T-GDi (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) engine, 44.2 kW electric motor and 1.49 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack. The engine and motor produce a combined total output of 230 ps power and 350 Nm torque, providing low emissions with high levels of performance from the new electrified powertrain. The intelligent packaging of the new platform means the battery pack can be located beneath the passenger cell, with no impact on cabin or luggage space.

Additional powertrains will be announced in future, including gasoline engines and a powerful new plug-in hybrid variant.



Korean and European customers can also specify the Sorento’s new four-cylinder 2.2-liter ‘Smartstream’ diesel engine, producing 202 ps and 440 Nm torque. This is paired with Kia’s new 8-speed wet double-clutch transmission (8DCT), developed to offer the smooth shifting characteristics of a conventional automatic while enhancing efficiency over dry clutch DCTs.



A powerful ‘Smartstream’ 2.5-liter T-GDi engine will also be available from launch in Korea and North America, developing 281 ps and 421 Nm torque. Matched with the new 8DCT, the 2.5-liter turbo engine combines direct injection and multi-point injection technology, enabling it to subtly adapt its combustion cycle at different engine speeds to enhance performance and efficiency in everyday use.



In addition to its new platform and powertrains, the new Sorento implements a range of high-tech safety and convenience features, differentiating it further from other midsize SUVs.



Kia’s first Multi-collision Brake system enables the Sorento to mitigate the severity of secondary collisions. It automatically applies vehicle brakes when the airbags have been deployed after an initial collision, further protecting occupants from secondary frontal or side impacts. The Multi-collision Brake system will be available depending on market with a total of eight airbags to further enhance collision safety, including front seat center side airbags and knee airbags.



Depending on market, the Sorento is also available with a remote smartphone Surround View Monitor. This allows users to check the vehicle’s surroundings with their smartphone in conjunction with the in-vehicle Surround View Monitor to maximize parking convenience.



Designed and engineered to take on everything life can throw at it, the new Sorento will make its debut on March 3 at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show.

MaxxisTyres-YAMAHA OEM Partnership in 2020

Maxxis Tyres has provided tyres to 125 cc, BSVI compliant scooter range of Yamaha Ray ZR , Fascino and Ray ZR Street Rally 125FI

This will give fruition to capture 15% of India’s 2-wheeler tyre market within 5 years



Maxxis India, a sub-company of Maxxis Group, the fastest growing tyre companies globally announced yet another breakthrough by partnering with YAMAHA, as its OEM partner. 

As per the development, Maxxis Tyres of specification Fr: 90/90-12 M6307 and Rr: 110/90-10 M6220 will come fitted in 125 cc, BSVI compliant scooter range of Yamaha Ray ZR and Fascino.  Whereas, BSVI compliant scooter range of Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally 125 FI will come with  tyres  specification Fr: 90/90-12 M6309 and Rr: 110/90-10 M6310. Maxxis has already started production of these tyres to cater to the requirement for both the range of scooters.

Both these tyres are amongst the best in the industry and known for its Dual-purpose quality- suitable for both city driving and off-roading and high-speed touring and are being designed with 20% lower rolling resistance.  In addition, Yamaha claims the new Blue Core motor is 16 percent more efficient than the old air-cooled unit.

PROJECT VECTOR – Developing Tomorrow’s Mobility. Today.

Project Vector concept has been created with the mission to raise the quality of future urban living.

It has been developed at the National Automotive Innovation Centre to gain the advantages of working with agility and close collaboration with academic and external partners.

It will also address the wider landscape of mobility, from how customers connect with mobility services, to the infrastructure required to enable fully integrated, autonomous vehicles in our cities.
Dr. Tim Leverton, Project Director said: “The megatrends of urbanisation and digitalisation make connected urban mobility systems necessary and inevitable. Shared and private vehicles will share spaces with and be connected to public transit networks, so you can travel on demand and autonomously. That is a complex task, best achieved by working together with partners across the spectrum of vehicles, infrastructure and the digital world.

“With the technology and engineering power of Jaguar Land Rover, we can provide a unique opportunity for innovators to develop highly-functional urban mobility services, seamlessly integrated into everyday life.

“Future urban travel will be a composite of owned and shared vehicles, access to ride hailing and on-demand services as well as public transport. Our vision shows the vehicle as a flexible part of the urban mobility network that can be adapted for different purposes.”

The intention is to collaborate with Coventry City Council and the West Midlands Combined Authority to plan a mobility service from late 2021, as a living laboratory for future mobility on the streets of Coventry.
